Repair Electronics like a Professional by using CIRCUIT DIAGRAMS & MANUALS
MEEC has decades of electronics experience ranging from pocket Calculator repair to Digital Printer repair. Assembling of electronics devices and assisting in electronics projects.
MEEC speaks not only English, but speaks also electronic.
Today, there are millions of electronics devices in the Global market. To electronics artists, it is a gold mine to make honest money. You can add value to these devices by repairing or assembling their support parts.
Schematic (circuit) Diagrams
A Schematic diagram (Circuit diagram) shows how electronic components are connected together. Each component is represented by a symbol.
Circuit diagram shows the connections as clearly as possible with all wires drawn neatly as straight lines. The actual layout of the components on PCB is usually quite different from the circuit diagram and this can be confusing for the beginner. The secret is to concentrate on the connections, not the actual positions of components.
A circuit diagram is useful when testing a circuit and for understanding how it works. This is why the manufactures should include a circuit diagram with the service manual to their equipment.
Circuit diagrams can really make troubleshooting much easier. Many times though, the service manuals will not be included with the sale of the equipment. That’s why MEEC has granary full of schematic diagrams of various equipment.
Block diagrams
Block diagrams are used to understand complete circuits by breaking them down into smaller sections or blocks. Each block performs a particular function and the block diagram shows how these sections are connected together.
No attempt is made to show the components used within a block, only the inputs and outputs are shown.
It is a diagram of a system, in which the principal parts or functions are represented by blocks connected by lines that show the relationships of the blocks. It is typically used for a higher level, less detailed description aimed more at understanding the overall concepts and less at understanding the details of implementation. It is Contrast to the schematic diagram.
In order for you to fully carry out successful repairs on an equipment, you must understand its block diagram.
MEEC stocks block diagrams of various equipment.
Block diagram of LCD TV
Example:
Overview of LCD TV Blocks (Sections)
Generally LCD TV can be broken down into at least six major Blocks (sections). Each section (stage) has its own function.
Power Supply Circuit
The role of the power supply is to provide power to the rest of the circuits in the LCD TV. Normally the output voltages range 24V, 18V, 12V and 5V. The 5V is further reduced (regulated) down to 3.3V, 2.5V, 1.7V etc. through voltage regulators. However in some LCD TV designs, the output voltages may vary with the above voltages. You have to test a good working power supply with a good multimeter or refer to the schematic diagram to ascertain the true output voltages.
Main board
Main board converts the video and audio analogue signals into digital signal. Video signals are channelled to the LCD driver/controller board and Audio signals to audio processor.
LCD Driver/Controller board
LCD Driver/Controller board recognize additional display information from the Main Board and drives the display transistors (TFTs).
LCD Panel
LCD Panel Controls light through-out using the liquid crystals.
Inverter Circuit
It provides high voltages and current required by the backlight (lamps). Inverter generates 600V to I800V from one, two or even four high voltage transformers depending on the number of backlights in the panel.
Backlight (lamps)
Backlight Generate a steady, uniform light source. The light generated from the backlight is focused through the LC panel.
If you have equipment that requires calibration, factory settings, wave-form analysis, troubleshooting chart, etc? ....... You need a
